CD stud welding utilizes capacitor discharge technology, where a large-capacity capacitor stores electrical energy and releases it in an extremely short time (1-3 milliseconds), generating high current that instantly melts the stud base and the parent material surface to form a metallurgical bond. CD welding offers advantages including extremely short welding time, minimal heat-affected zone, low distortion, and no need for shielding gas, making it particularly suitable for thin sheet welding and heat-sensitive applications.
